Mercy, a product of us being recipients of God’s mercy, is defined in Scripture as providing for those in need when it is within our means to do so. These acts of mercy can be providing meals, visiting, assisting with tasks that need to be done, transportation, listening, financial and other necessities that show God’s love and improve the conditions of those in need.
Merciful acts come from individual church members as they are moved when needs are presented.
The diaconate maintains resources that can be used when needs arise within the church or community and dispense them according to necessity. A special offering is received for this ministry once a month.
